General

Where is your jewelry made?

Our jewelry is made in Metro Detroit, Michigan. Each of our pieces are made, set and polished by our co-founder, Natasha, in her home studio.

How do I set up a consultation?

Please fill out our Custom Inquiry Form. One of our founders will get back to you in 1-3 business days to schedule your first consultation. We take in-person consultations in and around the Metro-Detroit area. All other consultations are done virtually.

Do you have a retail location?

No. We operate as a private design studio, focusing on intentional, one-on-one experiences. Whether meeting in person throughout Metro Detroit or consulting virtually, we provide a dedicated space for your story to take shape.

How long do custom projects take?

Because each custom piece is created specifically for you, timelines will vary depending on the complexity of the design. Most custom projects take 8-12 weeks to complete. During your first consultation, we will be able to give a more detailed timeline for your project.

Shipping

How will I know when my order ships?

Once your order has shipped, you will receive an email with tracking information.

What if I have questions about when my order will ship?

All lead times for projects (custom or products on the website), will be communicated via email or clearly written on the product page. If you have any questions about when your item will ship, please contact us.

How can I be sure that my jewelry will arrive to me safely?

All custom projects are shipped fully insured and require a signature upon delivery to ensure safe arrival. Jewelry purchased off our website will be insured as well but may not require a signature upon delivery.

What if I need jewelry made and shipped before the lead time that is specified on the website?

If you need a piece by a specific date, please reach out before placing your order and we will do our best to accommodate your request. Depending on the piece, a rush fee may be applied.

Returns & Exchanges

What is the return policy on custom projects?

All custom pieces are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged.

What is the return policy on personalized pieces?

Engraved or personalized pieces are final sale and are not eligible for return or exchange.

Can I return or exchange made-to-order pieces that are not personalized?

Yes. If you are not completely satisfied, made-to-order pieces may be exchanged within 14 business days of delivery for store credit or for another item of equal or lesser value.

Can I return or exchange in-stock pieces purchased from the website?

 Yes.

  • Refund: In-stock pieces may be returned within 14 business days of delivery for a refund, minus shipping costs.

  • Store Credit/Exchange: Items may also be returned or exchanged for store credit within 14 business days, minus shipping costs.

  • All returned pieces are carefully inspected. Jewelry must be in its original condition. Items showing signs of wear or damage may be subject to a 20% restocking fee.
Can I return in-stock pieces that have been resized or altered?

No. If an in-stock item has been resized or otherwise altered at your request, it is not eligible for return or exchange.

Who pays for shipping when I return an item?

Customers are responsible for all shipping costs associated with returning an item. Original shipping charges are non-refundable.

Warranties & Repairs

Do you offer a warranty?

Yes! We offer a one year warranty from the date of purchase that covers manufacturing defects in materials or craftsmanship. Our warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, accidental damage, improper care, or repairs done by a third party. We highly recommend having your jewelry inspected once a year to keep it in good condition.

Do you provide repairs?

Yes, please Contact Us with your repair request and we will get back to you with next steps. Please note that we only provide repairs to jewelry made by Olive & Hazel.

What if my jewelry needs repair after the warranty period?

We’re happy to help! We offer repair services for our pieces for a reasonable fee, depending on the nature of the repair.

Sizing

What if I don’t know my ring size?

Finding the right size is important for comfort and wearability. If you’re local to Metro Detroit, we can arrange an in-person meeting to size your finger. Alternatively, we recommend stopping into a local jeweler to have your finger sized.

What if I’m buying a ring as a surprise or don’t know the size?

The goal is to get to the closest size possible. Contact Us and we would be happy to help guide you in choosing the right size.

Can rings be resized after purchase?

Most rings can be resized, but certain designs or stones may limit resizing. If you have questions about sizing before ordering, please Contact Us.

Can my finger size change?

Yes! Finger size can fluctuate slightly depending on temperature, time of day, and activity level. For the most accurate measurement, size your finger at room temperature and later in the day.

Custom

How much do custom projects cost?

Custom projects begin at $1,500 for non-engagement pieces and $3,000 for engagement rings. Because every design is unique, pricing varies by material, stone selection, and design complexity. Fill out our Custom Project Inquiry Form to set up a virtual chat, and we’ll get a complimentary quote started for you

Do you offer a warranty on custom jewelry?

We offer a one-year warranty from the date of purchase that covers manufacturing defects in materials or craftsmanship.

Can I trade-in my gold for credit towards my custom project?

Absolutely! We’d be happy to apply the value of your old gold (up to 85% of its scrap worth) towards your custom project.

Can I repurpose my gold into a custom design?

We do not directly recycle your gold into your piece of jewelry. We can however offer you a trade-in credit to apply towards your custom project.

What metals do you work with for custom projects?

We work with 14k or 18k yellow gold, rose gold and white gold as well as platinum.

Can I supply my own gemstone, diamond, heirloom stones?

Yes, we love bringing new life to cherished pieces! We specialize in heirloom redesigns and are happy to incorporate outside stones. To ensure the safety and integrity of your gems, we inspect all stones beforehand to ensure they are suitable for setting.

Do you provide cleaning or maintenance?

Yes, we provide cleaning and maintenance on all Olive & Hazel Jewelry. Damaged jewelry that requires repair will be subject to repair fees. See ‘Repairs’ section under FAQs.

Do you offer ethically sourced stones?

Yes! We work with vendors who are transparent about where their stones come from. We also source lab grown diamonds that are grown in the USA. The majority of our sourced stones for custom projects come with a certification.

What if I don't know my ring size?
